About me
Hi - I am Joline! The person behind Social Sidekick Co.
I am located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. My background is in marketing and advertising. I earned my marketing degree in 2006 and spent the first part of my career working in that world - strategy, messaging, and understanding why people choose one business over another.
Then life changed direction.
After having my daughter, I started my own makeup artistry business with no blueprint and no team. I taught myself everything, not just the craft, but booking systems, client communication, reputation building, and yes every single piece of social media. I was there at the birth of social media!
Over the years I built a successful business entirely through consistency, relationships, and showing up online in a way that felt human and not salesy.
To get a little personal..I will absolutely stop to pet your dog. I discovered iced coffee way too late in life and I'm still making up for lost time.
I love going to movies..and I equally love being home.
I notice sunrises, I never ignore sunsets, and I pay attention to the small things.
Which, honestly, is probably why I care so much about how businesses show up online, because people don't connect with perfect, they connect with familiar.
